As we move into Autumn and Winter, the seasonal changes in nature draw us to dig out our warmer clothes and refocus our minds on adapting our style to a new winter wardrobe.
As we pack away our summer clothes, this is an ideal time to check them for any alterations or repairs so that they will be ready for when the brighter days of Spring and Summer return.
For Autumn and Winter, fabrics such as velvet, wool, Tweed and faux fur come to the fore and tailored clothing such as jackets, blazers and winter coats play a key role in our outfits. The shapes and styles of jackets and coats we choose will be influenced not only by our unique proportions and body shapes but also by our style personalities. Choosing knitwear in the glorious colours from your palette and wearing scarves and hats in your best colours can brighten your mood and your look on the gloomiest of days.
As the leaves are falling and change their colour tones to copper, amber and burgundy red so too do we adapt our wardrobes to the richer colour tones from our palettes.
For Autumn and Winter 2024, the shops abound with burgundy tones. For those who have Light dominant colouring characteristics, a geranium shade and light colours worn near the face suit best. Deep dominants can wear aubergine, burgundy and damson tones. Warm dominants can choose red and orangey brown tones and Cool dominants are best choosing colours with purple or blue toned hues. Clear dominants can brighten this with a bolder vibrant colour or contrast with a fresher clearer lighter colour. Soft dominants can tone damson and claret tones with the soft muted colours and neutral tones from their palette.
